DeerHack 2023, an initiative of a small team with the rationale to unleash the potential of aspiring innovators, is a 48-hour hackathon where developers, designers, students, entrepreneurs, educators, and mentors work together to build ideas that solve real-world complications. DeerHack provides an opportunity for individuals to sharpen their teamwork, communication, leadership skills, and networking in a risk-free and comfortable environment.
After an introductory session on the assignment and the chosen platform, each team spends the majority of the hackathon building software or hardware prototypes. Mentors from local companies also volunteer to help guide the products, troubleshoot coding challenges, and work with teams to bring their ideas into real life. At the end of the competition, each team has the opportunity to pitch their solutions to an experienced panel of judges.
